Oak

Oak

Traditional collections to appreciate with age- both financially and aesthetically

Think of Oak furniture and cast your mind back to the 17th century, to individually carved & decorated period pieces.

Oak was used for furniture during this time as it was a readily available raw material which is now rare and expensive. Regional differences in the carving and decoration of Oak furniture were not unusual as local cabinet makers worked on bespoke commission pieces, often made to display the personal wealth of the individual. There were also a number of influences on the styling of this furniture, such as the Restoration period in the 1660's and the great fire of London in 1666

Our reproduction pieces of Oak furniture can look as breathtaking as a 17th century original, no matter where they are situated - in a Devon country cottage, modern town-house, semi or flat

The colour and surface shine of our range mimics the antique finish achieved through the build up of years of polishing, giving it a soft appealing glow & whether considering Wood Bros 'Old Charm' , 'Jaycee' or other leading brand names, we have but one objective - to combine unique style with quality and practicality Above all, to supply traditional oak furniture unaffected by time and fashion which, with care, will appreciate with the years and last a life time and beyond.

NB Ecrol Old Colonial & similar colours/finishes are sometimes displayed in this section
